Welcome to the 37th Banff Pork Seminar
As the Chair of the Banff Pork Seminar Advisory Committee, I would like to welcome you to the 37th Annual Banff Pork Seminar.
The goal of the Banff Pork Seminar is to provide up-to-date information and industry leading ideas. BPS also provides a forum for leaders in all sectors of the pork industry to network and discuss topics that are important to the industry now and in the future.
This year's seminar focuses on crucial issues for our industry. The themes of the 2008 Plenary sessions address long term, medium term and short term key topics for the pork industry. The new role of agriculture in today's changing world, trade with the United States, and surviving the current economic crisis are the topics of this year's plenary sessions.
Breakout sessions focus on practical, farm level components of pork production. Many interesting topics will be presented in the breakout sessions, including loose sow housing, integrating foreign workers into your workforce, and eradication of PRRS.
We hope you will continue to find the seminar a useful tool in addressing the issues facing your business.
I want to express thanks to the Advisory Committee for its hard work and to Ron and Ruth Ball for their organization and drive in putting the program together.
Best regards,
Daryl Possberg
